Arita Arlene Adams of Dayton, TN passed away October 06, 2018.
Arlene, a native of Houston, Texas, was born on April 8, 1953 to the late Wallace Ray Allen, Sr. and Mary J. Davis Allen and has resided in Dayton, TN for the past 30 years. She was of the Christian faith and a member of The Family Church in Dayton, where she loved to sing in the choir. For many years, she was involved in charity work through her sorority, Delta Chi as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beloved friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her late husband, James E. Adams, and daughter, Jennifer Adams.
Survivors include her daughters, Angie (Beau Lee) Henschen, of Spring City, TN and Jamie Bell, of Knoxville, TN; sister, Mary Ellen Sallee of Hot Springs, AR; brother, Wallace Ray Allen, Jr. of Sale Creek, TN; five grandchildren, Dylan Henschen, Dustin Henschen, Heather (Keith) Hall, Shaya Bell and Shayda Steadman; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Hall and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Darryl Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Spivey Cemetery.
