Betty Jean Hudson

Betty was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and an active and faithful member of Ogdon Baptist Church. She taught school for 30 years at Walden Ridge Elementary and farmed with her husband for 66 years on Dayton Mountain. Betty loved quilting, flowers, gardening, cooking and the Braves. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Soddy Jewell and Cora Gillett Jewell; 5 sisters, 6 brothers and grandson, Thomas Varney. She is survived by her husband, Lee Roy Hudson, Dayton, TN; children, Vickey ( Thomas) Varney, Littleton, Colorado, Rebecca (Jay) Roberson, Dayton, TN; brothers, Franklin Jewell, Dayton, TN and Kenneth Jewell, Spring City, TN; grandchildren, Justin Roberson, Tiffany Hoose, Matthew Varney, Stephen & Collin Varney and several nieces and nephews.
