Billie Coulter Garrison, 93, passed away August 09, 2019.
Billie was the daughter of Robert Jones Coulter and Allie Brown Coulter. Identical twin sister to Betty, they were born on October 24, 1925 in Graysville, Tennessee. Her grandfather, Robert Jerome Coulter was the founder of R. J. Coulter Funeral Home which was established in 1897 in Dayton, Tennessee. Billie took pride in her family heritage. In 1946 she married Felix Garrison whose family was farming pioneer settlers of the Yellow Creek Community. Early in their marriage, Felix began working with Coulter Funeral Home which eventually led to Billie and Felix owning and operating Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home here in their hometown of Dayton. Billie took pride in knowing the funeral home was still owned and operated by her family.
Up until the time she was no longer able to attend, she had been a member of the Dayton Church of Christ. She loved attending the Ladies’ Bible class. She silently gave much to many of those in need. An avid golfer, Billie had been a member of the Dayton Golf & Country Club and enjoyed playing golf with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Garrison, daughter, Kay and son, Randy Garrison, as well as her brothers, Bob and Ted Coulter.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Charlie Cox) Garrison of Dayton and Jane (Pat) Murphy of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Betty Williamson; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Buttram Cemetery Saturday, August 10, 2019 officiated by Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald.
The family wishes to thank all those very special ladies who gave in-home care for their mother during the past 8+ years.
