Carolyn Marie "Connie" Clayton

Carolyn Marie "Connie" Clayton, age 72, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Connie was a life-long resident of Rhea County and was born on September 30, 1945. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Dayton. She also worked as a Bus Aide with the Rhea County Board of Education for the past two years. Connie was a devoted Christian, mother and friend to many people over the years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Clayton, her parents, Leonard and Ruth Sneed, four brothers, Charles, Melvin, Al and Calvin Sneed, two sisters, Louis Bishop and Rosaleen Caraway and a granddaughter, Jenna Lou Elders.

Survivors include her children, Heather Clayton, of Dayton, Charles (Jamie) Clayton, of Dayton, Jessica Clayton, of Dayton, Michael Clayton, of Dayton, Charlie Clayton, of Dayton, Andrea (David) Jones, of Cleveland, TN, Elizabeth Elder, of Dayton and Michelle Dodd, of Crossville, TN, six sisters, Thelma Roberson, Dayton, Earleen Cox, Pikeville, TN, Jean Dotson, Dayton, Faye Wilkey, Dayton, Dianne Gross, McMinnville and Jane Dugger, Dayton, two brothers, Eunice Sneed, Atlanta, GA and Bobby Sneed, Dayton and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Skip Mason officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 17. 2018 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, Dayton.
