Clovella (Koke) King passed away on September 30, 2019. She was born in Dayton, TN on February 24, 1928. She was the oldest of 7 Children born to Jack and Fannie Masengale. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church where she filled the roles of VBS Director, choir member, taught Ladies Sunday School class, and was WMU Director for Tennessee Valley Baptist Association.
During her lifetime, she was known as the Avon Lady selling for 49 years, was also on the Rhea County School Board, and drove a school bus for Special Ed students.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, J. Clyde King.
She is survived by 6 children, Diana (Don) Buttram of Shady Dale, GA, David (Teresa) King of Dayton, TN, Donna (Kenny) Pendergrass of Sale Creek, TN, Doris (Jim) Stout of Soddy Daisy, TN, Dale (Trisha Jones) King, and Darryl (Annette) King of Dayton, TN; brothers, Clyde (Joan) Masengale of Williamsburg, VA, Raymond Masengale, Ronnie (Dee) Masengale, Jerry (Faye) Masengale, Dayton, TN; sisters, Rosie Purser and Linda (Lynn) Shaver of Dayton, TN. She has 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 5 to 8 Est. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be at New Union Baptist Church on Thursday October 3, 2019 at 11 am Est. with burial following at Spence Cemetery.
