Donna Carol Sanders

Donna Carol Sanders, 64, of Tucker, GA passed away December 12, 2018 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA from cancer.

Carol was born September 23, 1954 to Betty Jo Kincannon Sanders and Dallas D. Sanders. The family moved from Dayton to St Louis, Missouri for Mr. Sander’s employment. She was a 1972 graduate of Hazelwood High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her nursing diploma from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing in 1974 and her Bachelors in Nursing from Maryville University in 1985. She had been employed at Missouri Baptist as a head nurse on a peripheral vascular unit and Utilization Review Coordinator. She moved to Atlanta in 1985 to pursue her graduate degree at Emory University. She earned an MSN in Gerontology-Mental Health Nursing and served as the Mental Health Nursing Director for Emory Healthcare until 2014. Her final position was as Policy and Procedure Manager for Emory Healthcare. She enjoyed sports, reading and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her cousins, Sherri Walker Sharp(Tim), Kayla Sharp and  Danny Good all of Dayton, TN, Mark Walker and Ismael Miranda of Hollywood, FL and her uncle Dean Walker of Dayton, TN.

Service will be Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.

Family will receive friends Monday, December 17, 2018 from 11:00am-1:00pm.

Interment will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.
