George Earl McCabe, age 76, of Spring City, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.
George was born in Spring City on October 6, 1942 and has lived most of his life in Rhea County. He was in the Army National Guard, worked as an aircraft mechanic with United Airlines as well as a machinist with Rhea Tool & Dye, a truck mechanic/driver with various local trucking companies and the owner/operator of Wolf Creek Express. George enjoyed many hobbies including: horseback riding, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, water/snow skiing, archery, playing and singing bluegrass music and was an excellent story teller.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Wasson and Willie McCabe, brothers, Nick, Homer, Zack, Jim, and Logan McCabe and sisters, Ruby Cleo McCabe, Mary Bell Mitchell, Nola Hawkins, Anna Ruth McCabe and Gladys Owens.
Survivors include his daughter, Tonya McCabe (Josh) Amburgey, of Dayton, a brother, Charlie McCabe, of Long Lane, Missouri, three sisters, Callie Cook, of Long Lane, Missouri, JoAnn McCabe, of Spring City, Wanda Fulmer, of Spring City, a special niece and caretaker, Margie Beasley, of Spring City and several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 3:00pm at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Rothwell and Rev. Bobby Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00pm.
