Jimmy "Jim" Rogers Marler of Cleveland, TN passed away October 25, 2018 at Tennova Hospital in Cleveland, TN.
Jim was a longtime resident of Rhea County before moving to Cleveland and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Army, a Deputy Sheriff in Rhea County, served on the Dayton Police Department and the Soddy Daisy Police Department and worked several years for S.E.I. as a Security Guard at the Chattanooga Airport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary Ellen Revis Marler; brothers, Doug Gornik and Richard Gornik; daughter, Jennifer R. Marler and great granddaughter, Alexis Paige Marler Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Evans Marler of Cleveland, TN; children, Rodney Marler of Dayton, TN, Roxanne (Tony) Thompson of Pikeville, TN, Sue (Randy) Silvers of Crandall, GA; brothers, Randy Gornik of Cagle Mtn., TN, Wendall Gornik of Knoxville, TN; uncle Bill Revis; grandchildren, Lindsay Marler, Kelsie Calbaugh, Tabitha Price, Luke Silvers; great grandchildren, Bryston Smith, Madison Johnson, Luca Miller, Maggie Price, Layla Silvers, Kaylia Price, Kyler Higdon and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating.
Family will receive friends Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 12:00-3:00.
Interment will be in Spence Cemetery.
