Joseph Alexander Powell

Joseph Alexander Powell age 72 of Lenoir City, TN passed away peacefully on July 11, 2019 at his home, after a short battle with cancer. Joseph was a United States Army Aviation Veteran. After the Army, he was a successful corporate pilot of over 40 years and a gentleman horse farmer. Joseph raised some of the finest Arabian show horses in the South. His life passions were flying and raising his show horses.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Howard Grant Powell and Lucy Motes Powell; sister, Jane Elizabeth Powell.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda G. Everett Powell and son, David L. Powell both of Lenoir City, TN; two beloved canine family pets, Rusty and Fetus, whom he loved very much; brother, Kenneth G. Powell of Graysville, TN, sisters, Mary Swafford of Dayton, TN, Beth Gould and Becky Hart both of Soddy Daisy, TN, Linda Roddy of Hixson, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

 Joseph’s final resting place was a graveside service on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Brayton Cemetery.
