Kenneth Loyd Poteet

Kenneth Loyd Poteet of Dayton, TN passed away October 28, 2018 at Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, TN.

Kenneth was a longtime resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Industrial Plating Company where he worked as a chemical technician. He loved working on cars, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Hattie Mae Howard Poteet and brother, Lamar Poteet.

He is survived by his wife Velma Doris Poteet of Dayton, TN; children, Cheryl Jordan of Evensville, TN, Franklin Jordan, Rhonda Rogers, Jerry Jordan and Mary Wolfe all of Dayton, TN; sister, Martha Faye Greene of Kodak, TN; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, Erica, Billy, Johnathan, Jordan, Dustin, Mandy; nephews, Kenny and Keith Poteet; 6 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

Graveside service with Rev. Aaron Revis officiating will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 1:00pm in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, TN with military honors.

Per his request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
