Kenneth Ray Riggs, 56, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his residence.
Kenneth was a life-long resident of Rhea County and was born on October 30, 1962 to the late George C. and Faye Smith Riggs. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country. He was of the Pentecostal faith and loved spending time with his family and also loved everything outdoors. He also worked Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute as an LPN. Kenneth was deeply loved by his family, friends and co-workers. He will truly be missed but will certainly never be forgotten.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann Riggs of Dayton, two daughters, Janet Renee (Travis) Tucker and Beverly Ann Riggs both of Dayton and a son, Timothy Riggs (Lyndzee Powell) also of Dayton, step-children, Nathan Louis Bates of Norman, Oklahoma and Rachael Elizabeth Bates of Indianapolis, Indiana, two brothers, Charles Richard (Patricia) Riggs of Dayton, Dean William Riggs of Ormond Beach, Florida and one sister, Teresa Jane (Bob) Hulgan of Dayton, two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Mike) Gibson of Dayton and Patricia Epperson of Dalton, Georgia, one brother-in-law, John Voyles of Dalton, Georgia, six grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Adriana, Braydon, Keydon and Maddie, four nephews, Derrick, Brett, Jacob and Nick and three nieces, Brittni, Tori and Kayla.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Knox officiating. Interment will follow at Add-Smith Cemetery, Spring City with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the funeral home.
