James Rickey "Rick" Baker, 63, passed away December 29, 2019, formerly of Spring City and Huntsville, Ala.,
He was a veteran serving in the US Army. He worked for “The Doc Tommy Scott Medicine Show” for seven years as a guitarist and a stage manager. He traveled America and played thousands of shows over the years. After this he was a Manager for Strings and Things music store in Athens, TN., where he also was an instructor and taught guitar lessons. Upon many accomplishments he was a professional guitar player and music was always his passion.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Emma Lela Clark Baker.
He is survived by his children, 2 sons James Allen Baker, Randy Gene (Christy) Baker, Grandchildren; Courtney Nicol Baker, Brandon Lee Jackson, Whitney Nicole Baker, Brooke Taylor Baker, Allen James “AJ” Baker; sister; Virginia Baker Cantrell, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Minister Steve Brown officiating.
Family will receive friends Friday, January 3, 2020 from 6:00-8:00pm.
Interment will be in McClendon Cemetery in Spring City. TN.
