William Harris Obituary

William Melvin "Chick" Harris passed away Sunday, July 08, 2018 at his home in Dayton, TN.

Chick was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. He was a member of New Union Baptist Church, Dayton Lodge # 512, Alhambra Shrine, Scottish Rite of Chattanooga and York Rite in Dayton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Maudie Bishop Harris; brothers, Calvin, Felix and Finley Harris and sisters, Martha Rutledge and Armeda Harris.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Miller Harris and sisters, Virginia Jo Horn and Helen Garrison.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 5:00-9:00pm at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at New Union Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Ruehling, Rev. Jim Purser and Rev Jeremy Deal officiating.

Burial will be in Smith Wilkey Cemetery.
