William "Bill" McSpadden Obituary

William Carlton McSpadden, 88, November 2, 1931 - December 3, 2019.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of New Union Baptist Church. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He retired from TWRA after 42 years. Bill loved sitting on his deck, watching the birds and squirrels playing in the yard.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alberta Potter McSpadden; parents, Fred and Nora Sands McSpadden; brothers, Tom, Clarence, John, James, Frank, Fred and Edgar McSpadden and sisters, Helen Minor, Bess Hutcheson and Elizabeth McSpadden.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Kathy Potter and Thomas Potter both of Dayton, TN; granddaughter, Angela Potter Barrow (Matt) of Decatur, AL; sister-in-law, Linda McSpadden of Dayton, TN; sister Margaret Cochran of Virginia Beach, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating.

Family will receive friends, Saturday, Dec 7, 2019 from 11:00am-2:00pm.

Interment will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Bill’s name to the charity of your choice.
