Allen Newell McClain passed away suddenly on June 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Allen was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He meant what he said and stood firmly by his convictions. Known for his thoughtful nature, steadfast loyalty, and legendary stubborn streak, Allen was someone his family and friends could always count on. He found great joy in cheering on Tennessee football and spending time with his beloved dog, Waffles, who held a special place in his heart.
Allen is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Brenda McClain; his daughter, Erica (Ray) Rappa of Kansas City, Missouri; and his son, Jonathan (Angie) Harris of Hoover, Alabama.
He was a proud grandfather to Jessica (Andrew) Patton of Dayton, Tennessee; Tyler (Courtney) Harris and Noah (Beth) Harris of Rockwood, Tennessee; Hayden Trotter, Ryan Rappa, and Krysia Rappa of Kansas City, Missouri; and Austin Kohls, Hannah Bonine, Kalli Bonine, and Addisyn Bonine of Hoover, Alabama.
Allen was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Lyric, Maryn, and Emberly, who brought him much happiness.
He is survived by his siblings, Doris (Russ) White and Roy (Peggy) McClain.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Henry McClain; and his siblings, Harold Walker, Paul Walker, Bill Walker, Barbara Jones, and Wallace McClain.
Though Allen may have been quiet, his love for his family spoke volumes. His strength, dependability, and enduring presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
The family takes comfort in knowing that while Allen's earthly journey has ended, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
