ALMA ELIZABETH (GOFORTH) WOODEN

Alma Elizabeth Goforth Wooden, 87, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.  She was born in Rhea County Tennessee was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Pikeville, Tennessee.   

She loved going to church, working in her yard, taking care of her children, and mowing the yard.  She dearly loved her family and friends and will be missed. 

Alma is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Edward Wooden; parents, James and Fannie Mae Goforth; four siblings, James, Richard, Willa Mae, and Lena Rose.

She is survived by her children, Jackie Ray (Darlene) Wooden of Dayton, TN, Jake Edward (Debbie) Wooden, of Pikeville, TN, Phillip Dewayne Wooden, and Rhonda Elizabeth (Wayne) Wilhoite, of Lafollette, TN; sister, Lee Wiener of Tampa, FL; and 8 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.    

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Brother Jimmy Jewel and Brother Wendell Wooden officiating.  Interment will follow at Rigsby Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4 PM – 7PM.
