Archie McCoy Wilkey

Archie McCoy Wilkey, 93, passed away January 30, 2021 at his home in Evensville, TN.

Archie was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Evensville United Methodist Church.  He was married to Sammie Lou Montgomery from October 10, 1947 until her death on June 9, 2003. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He served during WWII and the Korean War. He worked as an operator for TVA and was a rural carrier for USPs. Archie was an expert automotive mechanic.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Wilkey; wife, Sammie Wilkey; brother John Edgar Wilkey and sister, Ruby Davis.

He is survived by his children, Mac (Kay) Wilkey, Tim (Deb) Wilkey, Jon (Wanda) Wilkey and Joe Wilkey; sister, Juanita Boyd; 7 grandchildren, Lee (Eddie) Olive, Amber (Frank) Summers, Brooke (Jared) Deerman, Ginger (Patrick) O’Malley, Bryan Wilkey , Bill (Amanda) Wilkey, Clay (Emily) Wilkey; great grandchildren, Tyler (Brittany) Olive, Madison Olive, Gavin Summers, Kurt Summers, Reece Summers, Graham Deerman, Mac Deerman, Piper Deerman, Fisher Wilkey, Jasper Wilkey, Connor O’Malley, Sammy O’Malley; great-great granddaughter, Eloise Olive and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00am at Pierce Cemetery with Dr. William Boyd and Rev. Shane Johnston officiating.
