Arvil was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Graysville Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. He was self-employed, moved mobile homes and was a school bus driver for several years. He loved old cars, building projects and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruby Walker Ward; sister Ruth Motes; brother, C.E. Ward and granddaughters, Brandy Ward Burns and Megan Nicole Ward. He is survived by his wife, Frances Ward, Dayton, TN; children, Roger (Sandy) Ward, Dayton, TN, Wendy (Jeremy) Rogers, Pikeville, TN, Billy Ray (Sherry)Ward, Hixson, TN, Diane (Lloyd) Swafford, Pikeville, TN, Mike Ward, Dayton, TN; sisters, Betty Brown, Knoxville, TN, Naomi Davis, Sevierville, TN, Linda Hannon, Fort Oglethorpe, GA; brothers, Bobby Ward, Graysville, TN, Felix Ward, Pikeville, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren , one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
