Boyd Ray Knox, Sr., 78, of Rhea County, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the home of his son in Evensville. He was born on March 30, 1948.
A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Boyd was a faithful member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later retired from Goodman Manufacturing in Dayton. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruth Knox; his beloved wife, Carolyn Hawkins Knox; and his brothers, Bill McMillan and Garland Knox.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Allen (Crystal) Knox of Evensville and Ray (Tanya) Knox of Dayton; grandchildren, Harley Sullivan, Lizz Knox (Brittany), Alex Knox, Titus Holloway (Morgan), Thomas Holloway (Tori), and Sierra Hurst (Jackson); his Goddaughter, Nahla Parmenter; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harley Sullivan, Titus Holloway, Ben Oliver, Wayne Hughart, Jeff Elder, and David Elder. Elmer Pelfrey will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Mooneyham officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Evensville, Tennessee.
