Carolyn Joan Hale Knox passed away at her home in Dayton on Sunday June 27, 2021, she was 80 years old. She was a life long resident of Rhea County and attended Ogden Baptist Church. She worked faithfully for over forty years at Robinson Manufacturing Company. Carolyn had a love for reading books; she loved her grandchildren and selflessly, tirelessly and faithfully cared for her husband. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with her friends in their birthday club.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Knox, Sr.; parents, Leonard and Myrtle Hale; brothers, Dude, Harold, and Warner Hale; sisters, Barbara Purser, Edith Hale, and Kathryn “Ginger” Swafford; and son-in-law, Roy Fullam.
She is survived by her son, Jackie Knox Jr. (Sherry) of Pikeville; daughter, Beverly Fullam of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Dale (Trudy) Hale of Dayton; grandchildren, Roy “R.T.” (Samantha Elliot) Fullam, Jaclyn (Lance) Watson, Deanna (Matt) Rose, Heather (Chris) Snyder, Daniel Hale; 17 great grandchildren; and special friend Joyce Perry. The family would also like to give a special thank you to caregivers Sheila Richardson and Gabby Benfield for their loving care for Carolyn.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2021 in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral home at 6 PM with the Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 4 until 6 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
