Charles Wootton Obituary

Charles “Chuck” Wootton

April 18, 1948 – June 1, 2026

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Wootton, age 78, of Spring City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and family.

Chuck was a faithful Christian, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a respected member of the Dayton Church of Christ. His life was marked by unwavering faith, integrity, humility, and a servant’s heart. He loved God deeply and sought to reflect Christ’s love in the way he treated others. Those who knew him admired his dependability, honesty, and quiet strength.

Chuck never met a stranger. He was known for his quick wit, warm smile, heartfelt hugs, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. Whether family, friend, neighbor, or stranger, people knew they could count on him. He found joy in life’s simple blessings—spending time with family, fishing, enjoying blueberries, sharing stories, and creating memories with those he loved.

More than anything, Chuck treasured his family. He was a steady source of encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the values he instilled in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Kathy Lewis Wootton; his children, Tanya (Nick) Burgess, Charles “Chuck” Wootton Jr. (Wendy), and Rebecca Wootton; his stepchildren, Kristie Masterson, Karyn (Russell) Duncan Charli (Justin) Ardrey; his sister, Janet Wootton; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

While his family grieves his loss, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing that Chuck’s faithful journey has led him home to be with the Lord he loved and served throughout his life.

A memorial service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Dayton Church of Christ, with Mr. Matthew Higginbotham and Mr. Joe Mallory officiating.

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.”
