Claudette Burine (Jones) Kerr was born in Seattle, WA at Harborview Medical Center on September 19, 1944. She went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on April 30, 2021 after battling cancer.
Claudette graduated from Ephrata High School in 1963 and attended Whatcom County Community College in Bellingham, WA where she worked for the Whatcom County Courts as an accountant/clerk.
She was also an event coordinator for Promise Keepers in Colorado.
She married her soul mate, David Kerr in 1987 and they lived an adventurous life having traveled to 49 of the 50 states, alas, the swim to Hawaii was simply too far. After living in Washington, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado, they lived on the road together for a couple of years while David drove over-the-road trucks and finally settled down in Dayton, TN.
She loved camping in the Rocky Mountains, cooking, baking, needlepoint and sewing. Later, she enjoyed watching her favorite movies and shows on TV. She was well-loved by her church family at Garrison Baptist Church in Dayton, TN and often hosted gatherings at her home and provided good food and comfort to all who knew her.
She was a sweet and giving soul and she will sincerely be missed by her loved ones and church family having made a memorable mark on every person she was close to.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John (d:1975) and Ethel Jones (d:1985), brother, Jack (d:1975) and sisters, Joanne Orr (d:2017 and Gloria Roberts (d:2018).
She is survived by her husband, David Kerr of Dayton, TN; brothers, Larry Jones (Yvonne) of Pennsylvania and Gary Jones of Virginia.
She was the mother of Kirsten Lentz (Ken) of Athens, TN, Shelley Lundstrom (Jeff) of Reno, NV, Jennifer Borden of Murfreesboro, TN, Kelly Kerr of Colorado; stepmother to David of California and Katie Kerr of Washington State.
She is a grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and has many nieces and nephews.
May God bless her soul and finally allow her to rest in Heaven while she patiently waits to be joined by her loved ones and all the people her caring spirit touched during her 76 years on this earth.
Memorial Services will be held at Garrison Baptist Church, Dayton, TN on Saturday May 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Mike Breeden officiating.
