Clinton "Mac" Pendergrass passed away December 24, 2020 at NHC Sequatchie. Mac was born February 14, 1942 at his home in Birchwood. He lived for many years on Signal Mountain until he moved to Rhea County 30 years ago.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Pendergrass, parents; and all seven of his siblings.
He is survived by special niece and caregiver Robin Millard (Charlie) of Decatur; one stepson Larry Dean of Dayton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mac attended Spivey UMC for many years. He was a true Johnny Cash fan and enjoyed "pickin and grinnin" with his friends where he played the acoustic guitar. Gardening and working outdoors was one of his favorite things. He was an exceptional landscaper and even did some yard work for his niece Robin at her house. Politics interested Mac a lot. He was a diehard Republican and an avid Trump supporter. But, one of his favorite past times was reading the Bible and watching preachers on TV.
The family would like to give special thanks to Joyce Baker, a wonderful neighbor and dear friend for many years; April Curtis, a friend who was always just a phone call away; Caregivers Samantha Holden, Hospice of Chattanooga Dayton team, HOC Sequatchie team and especially the staff at NHC Sequatchie who have so lovingly cared for Mac.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday January 2, 2021 at McInturff Cemetery at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
