Cory Ray Akin

Cory Ray Akin, age 47, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Monday, May 4, 2026. He was born to Lewis Ray Akin and Judie Ann Potter Akin in San Diego, California, on August 13, 1978, but has considered Dayton his home for the past 40 years. 

Cory was preceded in death by his mother, Judie Potter James.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Akin; his daughter, Harmony; and his two beloved dogs, Roscoe and Georgie. He is also survived by his father and stepmother, Ray and Janice Akin; his sister, Crystal Ann (Adam) Brown; his step siblings, Jason (Kammy) Heath, Clint (Debbie) Heath, and Molly (Mike) Dawson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Jason Heath officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service.
