Daniel Scott MacNeill, age 79, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed at his home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
He was born on October 8, 1945, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to the late William George and Ruth Ida MacNeill.
Daniel dedicated the final years of his professional life to serving as Director of the Lexington County Library in South Carolina, a role he held for fifteen years. His leadership contributed significantly to the expansion of library services in the region, including the development of several branch locations.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sylvia Toliver MacNeill, and their daughter, Gwen (Steve) Marlow, both of Dayton, Tennessee.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Buttram Cemetery, with Pastor Bob Schafer officiating.
