Darryl Edward Smith, age 61, of Dayton, passed away Friday morning, May 22, 2026, at Memorial North Park Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He was born in Chattanooga on August 28, 1964, to Charles and Phyllis Smith of Dayton.
Darryl was a graduate of Rhea County High School and furthered his education by earning a degree in Computer Technology. He had a lifelong passion for computers and electronics and enjoyed anything related to technology. In addition to his love for computers, he enjoyed scuba diving and spending time pursuing his many interests. Darryl also worked alongside his father, assisting in the daily operations of the historic Old Washington Ferry in Dayton, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henson Smith and Phyllis Colbaugh Smith.
He is survived by his brother, Dean Smith, and his nephew, Justin Smith, both of Dayton.
There will be no visitation or services held at this time.
