Donald Brown Sr, age 85, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on September 17, 1940, to the late Henry and Dolly Brown.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Baptist faith. A faithful child of God, his love for the Lord was central to his life. Next to his faith, his greatest devotion was to his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He also had a deep love for music, particularly the songs of Jim Reeves and Jerry Lee Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Brown Longwith; his son, Donald Brown Jr.; his grandson, Donald Brown III; his wife, Betty Joyce Brown; and numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda Scoggins, Gayla (Ray) Richmond, Judy Renee King, and Annette (Darryl) King; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the parlor of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home. There will be no services.
