Doris Jane (Sharp) Shaver

Doris Jane Sharp Shaver 88 of Dayton, TN passed away on Friday July 16, 2021 at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee.  Doris was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith.  She attended New Union Baptist Church.  She retired from the Rhea County School System after 32 years of service, all of those years were at Frazier School where she was a secretary.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Dean Shaver and her parents, Oscar and Hazel (Roddy) Sharp. 

She is survived by her children; Tim (Karen) Shaver of Centreville, VA, Ken (Dawn) Shaver of Etlan, VA, Jane (Greg) Wilkey of Dayton and Eric (Kim) Shaver of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Sarver, Jennifer (Ward) Lester, Eric II (Callie) Shaver, Brian (Nicollette) Shaver, Matthew Coster, Leslie (Trevor) Phipps, James Shaver and Daniel Shaver; great grandchildren, Joshua Sarver, Finnley Shaver, Aidan Lester, Elet Shaver, and Mabel Dean Shaver; In-laws, Mary Nell Shaver, Fay (Bill) Bishop, Jo Anne Shaver, Phyllis Shaver, Linda Hinds and Linda Shaver; and several nieces and nephews, two of which she claimed as her own : Darren Shaver and Leslie Dean Shaver. 

Funeral Service will be Saturday July 24, 2021 at 1:00PM at New Union Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Ruehling and Rev Jeremy Deal officiating. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday July 24, 2021 from 10:30am until 1:00 PM at New Union Baptist Church.  Interment will be immediately following at Shaver Cemetery.
