Floyd William Defore

Floyd William Defore, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 14, 2024 at his home  surrounded by family.  He was a life long resident of Rhea County and of the Church of God faith.  Floyd enjoyed going fishing, camping,  riding motorcycles and four wheelers.  He loved being outdoors, but more than anything, he loved his family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; Daniel and Ruby Nichols Defore, his first wife; Edna Williams Defore, daughter; Diane Defore, brothers; Donnie, James and Ricky Defore, and sister; Wanda White.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 26 years; Ola Hall Defore, children; Terry Defore (Kristi Vestal), JoAnne Richey (Mark), Brenda (John) Clawson, Henry (Becky) Williams, Jimmy (Samantha) Williams, Zachary Defore, Dusty Defore and Hayley Williams, Siblings, Helen Sprouse (Fred), Ruby Cox (Bobby), Rhonda Shipley, Robert Defore (Connie), Paul Defore (Kay), Dean Defore, Jerry Defore, Louise (Bob) Stephens, 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11AM at Burchard Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Jump officiating.
