Fred Wallace, age 81, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Decatur Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Decatur, Tennessee. He was born in Sale Creek, Tennessee on June 27, 1944, to James and Jewell Wallace.
Fred was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a very likable man and an avid outdoorsman who loved working in his yard and tinkering with lawn mowers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Robert Wallace.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Wallace, two sisters, Rhoda (Robert) Smith and Minnie (Tommy) Hughs; two brothers, Hubert (Saundra) Wallace and Bill “Smiley” Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Fred will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor Brandon Parton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in Burchard Cemetery in Dayton, Tennessee.
