Mr. Gary “Hoppy” Dotson, 69, of Dayton, TN passed away at Parkridge Medical Center February 15, 2026. A life-long resident, “Hoppy” was a very generous man who was well loved in the community and had many friends. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Dotson; daughter, Angel Elaine Dotson; four brothers, Morris, Wendell, Tommy, and Cecil Dotson; three sisters, Frances Dotson, Faye Dotson, and Eileen McMillen; four nephews, Wayne Wooden, Barry, Alex, and Adam Dotson; and niece, Cynthia Stinnett.
Gary is survived by Elaine Dotson; four sisters, Yvonne (Gary) Swafford, Nonivee Wooden, Winona Hall, and Lou Morgan; brother, Wesley (Wendy) Dotson; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home at 3PM with Pastor Jeff Swafford of Summer City Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3 prior to service. Gary will be laid to rest in Brown Cemetery.
