Gary Lynn Youther

Gary Lynn “Yogi” Youther, age 52 of Dayton, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  He was a life long resident of Rhea County and of the Church of God faith.  Gary was a true outdoorsman.  He enjoyed being out in nature where he spent a lot of time hunting, fishing and working in his garden.  Gary had a heart of gold, and never met a stranger.  He was always willing to help those in need. 

He is preceded in death by his father; James Youther.

Gary is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jenny Edwards Youther, his mother; Beulah Jolley Youther, children; James Mack Youther (Kendra) and Annie Mackala Youther, siblings; Lois Barrera and Alvin Youther, grandchildren; Drake, Maverick and Maggie, nieces and nephews; Lance, Chelsea, Miranda and A.J. and four great nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home  on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2 PM with Pastor Bobby Harris officiating.   The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11-2.  Interment will follow at Burchard Cemetery.
