Gerald Swain Sr. of Dayton, TN passed away Saturday, August 04, 2018 at his home on Dayton, TN.
Gerald was of the Methodist faith. He loved life and he lived by the Bible. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years and worked at Macon Craft Paper Co. for 34 years. In 1992 he moved from Macon,GA to Rockwood, TN and worked at the paper mill and later moved to Dayton, TN where he retired. Gerald lived a long and happy life. He loved fishing, playing horse shoes, camping, and sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Floyd Swain and Lottie Macie Wilson Swain; brothers, Clifton and Cecil Swain; stepdaughter, Belinda F. Wise and granddaughter, Hope Morgan Rice.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Lee Swain of Dayton, TN; daughters, Susan (Jimmy) Land of Gray, GA, Mikayla (Jonathan) Wise of Dayton, TN; son, Gerald Swain Jr. of Scottsboro, ALA; stepsons, Mike ( Pam) Brantley of Byron, GA, Jerry (Linda) Brantley of Graysville, TN; sisters, Annette (Wendell) Hobbs and Faye Glover of Tifton, GA; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Tuesday, August 07, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev Hank House and Rev. Michael Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 07, 2018 from 12:00-2:00.
Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery, Evensville, TN.
