Geraldine Morgan Shaver, born March 2, 1938 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee passed away at her home in Dayton surrounded by her family on December 17, 2019. She was a seamstress by trade, a member of the Dayton Lions Club and Salem Baptist Church, and foster mother to several. She was known for her kindness, generosity and open-door policy at home, feeding whoever showed up at her table.
Preceded in death by parents Eugene and Frances Morgan, and brother Roger Morgan
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Delma Shaver of Dayton, TN; children: Jackie (Mike) Breeden, Karen (Steve) Stinson, Eugene (Barbara) Shaver, Marcia Shaver, Barry (Alicia) Shaver, Larry (Regina) Shaver and Stacey (Fred) Gates; grandchildren: Meghan (Theron) Carter, Aaron (Maggie) Breeden, Alexander (Amanda) Stinson, Meredith (Bradley) Qualls, Justin Shaver (Sarah) , Daniel (Lauren) Shaver, Tommy (Donna) Alnutt, Barbie (Ben) Roberts, Sherri Alnutt , Caleb Shaver, Kyle Shaver, Emily Shaver, Matthew Shaver, Sydney Shaver, Daniele (Tyler) Wear, Kayla (Mitch) Mattix , Morgan Gates and Elijah Gates; great Grandchildren: Kaylee, Hannah, and Emma Parker, Ansley Couch, Jace Breeden, David Stinson, Sullivan and Abbott Wear, Logan, Lance, Luke, Lakin, Ava and Michael Alnutt, Bradley Evans, Bailey Roberts, Joshua and Isabella Ballard; great-great granddaughter: Kristin Merrill; sisters: Claudette (Huddy) Shaver, Oleta (Freddy) Brewer, Josephine (Steve) Regner and Rhonda (Jamie) Roberson.
Pallbearers: grandsons Justin Shaver, Aaron Breeden, Alexander Stinson, Daniel Shaver, Caleb Shaver, Kyle Shaver, Matthew Shaver, Elijah Gates, and great-grandson Jace Breeden.
The family would like to thank her hospice team Charlotte, Loretta, Lynn, and Gayla, as well as Chaplain J.C. Allen.
Burial in Shaver Cemetery
Visitation Friday, December 20, 2019 4-8 pm at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
Service at Salem Baptist at 2pm Saturday December 21, 2019. The body will lie in state for visitation at the church from 12 pm until 2. Dr. Mike Breeden officiating.
