Helen (Harris) Garrison

Helen Harris Garrison, 84, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at her residence in Dayton, TN.  She was a life long resident of Rhea County and a member of Texas Grove Baptist Church. 

She is preceded in death by her husband; Lloyd Garrison, son; Rodney Marler, daughter; Jennifer Marler, parents; Richard and Maudie Harris, two sisters; Martha Ruthledge and Armeda Harris, four brothers; Calvin, Chick, Finley and Felix Harris and great granddaughter; Lexi Marler.

Helen is survived by her daughter; Roxanne Thompson (Tony) of Pikeville, TN, sister; Virginia Horne of Hixson, TN, two grandchildren; Lindsay (Nick) Austin, Kelsie (Chris) Miller, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. 

Nanny, as her grandchildren called her and anyone who met her through them, was the most kind and sweet person anyone would ever meet . She was a loving wife , mother , grandmother, great grand mother and great great grandmother . She always greeted and left you with a hug. She will be missed by all . We want to give a special thanks to all of her caregivers over the past years who have taken wonderful care of her . She is with her Lord and Savior now .

Funeral service for Mrs. Garrison will be Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 2PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Huskey officiating.  Interment will immediately follow the service at Smith-Wilkey Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Lloyd.  

The family will receive friends from 12 until the start of the service.
