JOANN (FITZGERALD) TILLEY

Joann Tilley, 88, a life-long resident of Rhea County, passed away at The Courtyard at Deer Ridge on Thursday, January 26, 2023.  She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. 

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Arch and Lula Fitzgerald; husband, James Tilley; two brothers, Talmadge and Gillispie Fitzgerald; two sisters, Margie Stowe and Croeba Majors; and two infant siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gentry of Dayton, TN; one brother, Willard (Helen) Fitzgerald of Lansing, MI; a special granddaughter, Whittney Stowe, of Knoxville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.  

A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Buttram Cemetery.  Reverend Barry Walls and Reverend Clyde Fitzgerald will be officiating.

A special heartfelt thanks to Jessica Marston and the ladies at The Courtyard and Hearth Hospice for the loving kindness that they provided.
