JOHN L ROSE

John L. Rose, 61, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.   He is a life-long resident of Dayton, Tennessee, and of the Church of God faith.

For all that knew him, John was the life of the party and enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. He absolutely LOVED wrestling and watching Wheel of Fortune, playing board games, as well as playing cards. 

John rode his electric wheelchair all around and everyone knew him from his scooter.  He was such a generous man and would buy breakfast for the ladies in the stores by his house.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Linnell and Gladys Jones Rose; two sisters, Linda Suttles and Darlene Rose; and one brother, Larry Goss.

John is survived by four sisters, Kathie Stinnett, Arlene “Sissy” Price, Deborah “Debbie” Tipton, and Shirley (Jerry) Martin; two grandchildren, Maverick and Mariska Masengale; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4-8 PM at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with Brother Gary Glenn Roberts officiating.  Interment will be at Smyrna Cemetery.
