James Smith Obituary

James Bryant Smith passed away on August 18, 2020 at his home in Evensville, TN.

James was a lifelong resident of Rhea County, and a member of Graysville Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Spring City High School class of 1959. He retired from Combustion Engineering of Chattanooga after 27 years. James spent 6 years in the National Guard. He loved to garden, play piano, mow yards and drive his tractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Purser and Marie Smith; sisters Maxine Cole; brother, Dallas Frances Smith and his daughter; Janet Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Velma Smith, son Brian (Teresa) Smith; 2 sisters Nina Blackford (Tom) Wilma Jean (Rich) Richardson and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a service at a later date.
