James Edward Lewis, 77, of Dayton, TN passed away December 29, 2020 at Rhea Medical Center.
Jim was a long time resident of Rhea County and a retired State Trooper after serving 30 years. He was a member of Sale Creek First Baptist Church, Tennessee Highway Patrol Retired Officers Association, Dayton City Council, Dayton City School Board and Dayton Planning Commission.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Alice Lillian Buchanan Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Lewis of Dayton, TN; children, Sherree (Greg) Travis, Jessica Randolph both of Dayton, TN and Peter (Tina) King of Soddy Daisy, TN; sister, Wilma Dodson of Lanett, AL; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
Family will receive friends Saturday, January 2, 2021 after 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sale Creek First Baptist Church building fund.
