Jeremiah Skiles Obituary

Jeremiah Lee Skiles, aka Jersey, aka Jerm, was an amazing man from Cottonport (Cottonport Constable) in Rhea County, TN who gained his wings on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at the age of 38, with his wife by his side. His departure was right after he drifted the curves on Pete Worthington blaring Cardi B.

If you knew Jersey, you knew you were loved and there’s a good chance he told you that or showed you. He always made it a point to make you laugh and have your back. He had the most beautiful smile, sexy eyes, and oh, that dimple in his chin. During his time here he found a way into everyone’s hearts. He loved in this order: his dog-daughter Daisy Skiles, his son, Jaxson Lee Mack Skiles, his wife, Mustangs, burnouts of any kind, and the smell of racing fuel. He loved going fast, his hat, Steve Madden shoes, Tennessee Vols (win or lose), rap and rock music, drag strip, steak and shrimp with baked potato, and Dr. Pepper. He was a slick talker, good dancer, he hated any and all Chevy’s, except a SS Camaro, pasta, tomatoes, mushrooms, and picking up after himself.

We’re not sure, but we believe the cause of death was either heart problems or dead sexy. Jeremiah, we all love you always have/will, and we all miss you so very much already and can’t imagine a life without you in it. Jeremiah requests that if anyone has a hot rod they should drive it and do one last burnout for him and to know the county appreciates it and Goodyear loves it.

He was preceded in death by his cousin Jerry Michael Ray; uncle, Jerry (Big Jerry) Ray; and papaw Jerry Mack Ray. We’re certain they’re happily reconnecting right now, talking about roosters and Mustangs.

He ran off and left behind his loving wife, Brittany Skiles; his son, Jaxson Lee Mack Skiles; his mother Alice (Ray) Tallent; father, Marvin Skiles; step-mother, Angela Skiles; brothers, Marvin, Bradley, and Taylor Skiles; sister, Alisha Skiles; his mamaw, Hazel Ray; and papaw Jerry Mack Ray.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Skiles, Taylor Skiles, Derek Garrison, Tommy Price, Willie Dannel, David Ray, Matt Reed, and Justin Ray.

Service will be Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Sister Kathy Young officiating. Interment will follow at Spring City Memorial Gardens.
