Joanne Rankhorn, age 71, of Graysville, passed away on April 10, 2026, at Rhea Medical Center. She was born on March 21, 1955, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Jim and Hazel Garren Davis.
Joanne was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1973 graduate of Rhea Central High School in Dayton. She was a longtime member of Graysville Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved flower gardening and cooking for her family, but most of all, she especially loved her fur grandbaby, “Bella.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of many years, Tony Rankhorn; and her sister, Rachael Morgan.
She is survived by her children, Melissa Morgan of Graysville, Kristy (Mike) Rodgers of Illinois, and James (Laci) Rankhorn of Georgia; her sister-in-law, Jeannette Keltch Worley of Soddy Daisy; a sister, Joyce Davis; and her aunt, Martha Sue Davis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jestyna Douglas of Michigan, Samantha Winde of Michigan, Kinsley Rankhorn of Georgia, Elijah Rankhorn of Georgia, and Avery Rankhorn of Georgia; one great-grandchild, Everleigh Bennett of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her lifelong friend, Madline Levi; and one special kid, Kay Mayes of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Graysville Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor Mike Pettengill officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
