Joe “Bo” Lee Woody, 80, of Dayton, TN died Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at his home following a prolonged illness.
Born and raised in Spring City, the son of Arthur and Anna Maude Woody and was a lifelong resident of Rhea County.
In his early years, Bo worked at Dayton Products until his retirement. He met and married his wife, Joyce Ann in 1978 and was happily married until her death in 2011.
Bo had a passion for NASCAR, the World Wrestling Federation and the television show American Pickers, however, his family was always his first priority.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Woody; two sisters, Betty Jo Kerley and Edna Woody and nine brothers, Charlie, Herbert, Jack, Glenn, Gene, Larry, Clarence, James and Burchard Woody.
He is survived by four children, Alan and Anthony Ritchey, Glenda (Scott) Hall and Grace (Jerry) Scruggs; sisters, Wanda Lewis and Diane Powers; five grandchildren, his canine companion, Babe and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family extends their thanks and gratitude to Bo’s healthcare nurses and personnel at Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga.
Funeral service will be Sunday, February 23, 2020 in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev Alan Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Smith-Wilkey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 11am to 1pm.
