John Sharpe Obituary

John Franklin Sharpe, 74, of Dayton, TN passed away May 13, 2020 at Rhea Medical Center.

John was a lifetime resident of Rhea County and a member of The Lighthouse on Dayton Mountain. He founded Sharpe’s Cabinet Shop in 1968. He custom built both cabinets and furniture. He was known as a master craftsman of his trade and his reputation for quality work extended to East Tennessee and North Georgia.

John loved the Lord and was a faithful supporter of the nation of Israel. He was a former Gideon speaker and had been active in serving the Lord through campground ministry.  He also established an Appalachian Ministry where he provided food, clothing and the Word to many families who were in need.

He was a kid at heart. He loved camping and southern gospel music. He thrived on fellowshipping with others and seldom met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Sharpe and parents, Oliver Ray Sharpe and Katherine Reid Sharpe.

He is survived by sons, Tim (Sherri) Sharp and Bill Sharpe both of Dayton; sister, Carol ( Jerry) Wilkey; granddaughter, Kayla Sharpe and niece Amanda Wilkey.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 at Pleasant View Cemetery.
