KATIE HARRIS Obituary

Katie Rosetta Harris (Rosie), 74, of Dayton, Tennessee passed away on May 17th, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the laughter and love of her loved ones. She was a life-long resident of Rhea County and was of the Baptist faith.

Rosie loved being surrounded by her loved ones, playing rook, camping, dancing to the electric slide, and watching movies. She would give the shirt off her back if someone else needed it more than she did. She was everyone’s “granny”, and she is loved by so many. She was the glue that held the family together and she will be greatly missed.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, Arvella Kathleen Gee and Garland Hawkins; her sisters, Carolyn Knox and Pat Howell.

Rosie is survived by her daughters, Janet (Brian) Dobbins, Garnetta Mooneyham, Bonnie (Brian) Bacon, Judy (Rick) Jenkins, Sherry (Ulyses) Edwards, her sisters Judy Swafford, Vanessa (John) Gentry, Dottie Hawkins, and Anita Hawkins; her son Bobby (Kathy) Harris, Wayne (Anna) Harris; her brother-in-law, Boyd Knox; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces/nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20th at 1:00 PM with Reverend Fred Oliver officiating. Visitation will be at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home on Friday May 19th from 4-8 PM. Interment to follow after the funeral service at Spence Cemetery.
