Kelly Rose Obituary

Kelly Colin Rose, age 83, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Fort Mountain, Tennessee on January 30, 1943, to the late Bill and Ruth Hall Rose.

He attended Rhea Central High School in Dayton and served in the National Guard for six years. He also worked for many years at Suburban Mfg. Company in Dayton. He was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God.  In his younger years, he was a Golden Gloves boxing champion. He was a loving and caring man who cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his yard and took great pride in keeping it looking nice. Most of all, he was well known for his playful personality, always teasing, cutting up, and aggravating others whenever he had the chance. His sense of humor and fun-loving nature brought laughter to those around him and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Rose; sisters, Edith Key, Rita Aytes, Billie Lawson, Sandy Bradshaw, and Helen Whitney; and brothers, Jerry Rose and Johnny Rose.

He is survived by his children, Melinda Barnes, Kellie Ann (Jimmy Sr.) Morgan, John P. (Gina) Rose, and Oliver Wayne Rose; his brother, Paul Rose; grandchildren, Matthew (Dwan) Rose, Thomas (Emily) Rose, Nakita (Brad) McClure, Caleb (Keely) Rose, Kalayena Rose, Jimmy Morgan Jr., Olivia (Joel) Claiborne, and Jaylee Rose; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Brother Terry Bolton officiating.

Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Burchard Cemetery beside his wife.
