Landon Carter Huskey

Landon Carter Huskey began his life on January 25, 2005, weighing in at a whopping one pound, seven ounces, born at 23 weeks to Tommy and Carrie Huskey of Dayton, Tennessee.

He celebrated his first birthday with a large gathering of relatives, friends, and church family after his parents were advised to do something they desired for him before enrolling in a short-term hospice program due to a terminal diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension.  God, in His infinite wisdom and by His mighty power, however, saw fit to bring Landon through many dangers, toils and snares in the remaining 15 plus years until his sudden home going on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Landon loved to go for rides, enjoyed almost daily shopping outings, frequent Disney trips, camping, and especially to "go church", where he was an unofficial worship leader from his favorite position on the second row, left side at Westminster Presbyterian Church, which he attended his entire life.  His favorite parts of the service were the Doxology and the Benediction, and on occasion, he played the tambourine or cajon.

He never met a stranger, and to have met Landon once was to love him forever!  In addition to church family and relatives, his life was further enhanced by numerous therapists, nurses and caretakers who quickly identified as extended family.  He had a very unique and extra special bond with his private duty nurse, Cindy Hendrick and her husband Dan.

In addition to his parents, Landon is survived by the best little big brother ever, Drew Huskey; grandparents, Parson Norman and Becky Huskey and Jerry and Doris Ables; great-grandmother, Leola Strader; uncle, Steven (Sam) Huskey; aunt, Jerry Anne Howard; great-uncle, David Strader; numerous cousins and a host of friends and adopted family.

Visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:00, with a service following at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Carter Johnson.  A graveside ceremony will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery, adjacent to the church parking lot.

To honor Landon's love of going "bye-bye" and riding, we invite you to join a parade that will start at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home and end at Westminster Presbyterian Church.  If you wish to participate in the parade, meet at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home by 10:30 AM.  If you want to line the streets of downtown Dayton, that would be wonderful as well.
