Lela Mary Dotson Gravett, a long-time resident of Dayton, passed from this life into eternity in the early morning hours of Monday, May 17, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was treasured by her family and many other relatives and friends. She, her husband and family owned and operated Paul’s Produce for over 26 years. She loved her customers and said many times that she never felt like she was at work. Her kindness and love were felt by many.
She was born on December 31, 1938, to the late Wilburn and Pearl Grider Dotson. She also precedes the deaths of an infant son, Stephen Paul, and her six brothers and sisters. She was a long-time resident of Dayton.
She is survived by Paul, her husband of almost 67 years, and her children Tina Roxanne Elsea (James) and her son Darryl, all of Dayton. She will always be Granny or Nana to her five grandchildren (Jay, Miranda, Austin, Jaylee and Logan.) She is also survived by her sister Pat (John) Fuller and many nieces and nephews. She loved so big.
She attended Unity Gospel Tabernacle in Graysville, TN. She so loved her pastors and church family very much.
Arrangements are being handled by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 2PM to 8PM. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, May 20, 2021, in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Brother Douglas Graham, with burial at Gravett Cemetery.
