Lillian Ruth Byrd, age 89, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Life Care Center in Dayton. She was born on March 7, 1936, to Ed and Mollie Kerr Smith and was a lifelong resident of the area. Lillian was a devoted member of Spivey Methodist Church.
Known for her sweet spirit and servant’s heart, Lillian deeply cherished her large and loving family. Her greatest joy in life came from being surrounded by generations of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She also held a special place in her heart for her church family, serving with kindness and devotion throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Charlie Byrd, and her uncle Everett Kerr.
Lillian is survived by her children:
Jimmy (Connie) Byrd, Danny (Debbie) Byrd, Vicki (Tom) Pelfrey and Tracy Byrd.
Her grandchildren:
Cynthia (Jeremy) Revis, J.C. (Stephanie) Byrd, Eric (Gayle) Ewton, Erica Pelfrey ElGafy, Brandon (Catrina) Byrd, and Ryan Byrd.
Her great-grandchildren:
B.J. (Robin) Byrd, Tanner (Kaitlyn) Byrd, Tyler (Hailee) Revis, Megan Revis, Nadia ElGafy, Adam ElGafy, Abigayle Byrd, and Oliver Byrd.
Her great-great-grandchildren:
Clayton Revis, Henry Revis, Jack Byrd, Wyatt Byrd, Willow Byrd, Alex Reed, and Aiden Reed.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel, with Pastor Skip Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens.
