Loretta Colleen (Fisher) Brown

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Loretta Brown on June 9, 2026, at the age of 87. Loretta left this world quietly with her family by her side, an end befitting a life that was devoted to faith, family, and the nurturing of others.

Born on July 17, 1938, Loretta was the cherished firstborn daughter of Floyd and Hazel Fisher. Her early years were spent in Mio, Michigan, where she married and then moved to Tennessee. Dayton Mountain is where she called home. She lived a life characterized by warmth, kindness, and an enduring commitment to those she loved. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 64 years, George Brown; her son, Charles Brown; her parents, Floyd and Hazel; and her brother, Dennis Fisher. Despite these profound losses, Loretta's spirit remained unbroken, as she drew strength from her faith and the family she cherished so deeply.

Loretta's legacy is lovingly continued by her children: Georgia (Buddy) Sinclair, Diana (Mike) Halverson, Gary Brown, and Ada West. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her values of love and compassion. Her siblings, Judith Weller, Harriett Whited, and James and Sonya Fisher, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved church family, join in celebrating her life and mourning her passing.

Loretta was a woman of many talents and interests. Her career was as varied as it was fulfilling, from decorating cakes for special occasions to selling real estate, and she found great joy in her work at Laurelbrook Nursing Home, where she developed deep bonds with both residents and staff. Perhaps her most cherished role was that of a caring babysitter, who saw every child in her care as one of her own.

A devoted member of the Ogden Road Seventh-day Adventist Church, Loretta was a guiding light in her community. She poured her heart into teaching children's classes, serving as superintendent, and leading as a deaconess and Women's Ministry leader. Her contributions to Vacation Bible School were a testament to her love for nurturing young minds and spirits.

Loretta's personal interests were as nurturing as her soul. She found peace in her garden, joy in baking pies and trying new recipes, and comfort in music, especially when her husband played the harmonica. Above all, Loretta treasured the time spent with her family, weaving a tapestry of memories that will forever warm the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Loretta's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and boundless compassion. Her generous heart and selfless love touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in her memory and the assurance that she is now at peace, resting in the love of her Savior.

A celebration of Loretta's life will take place on July 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ogden Road SDA Church, located at 3235 Ogden Road, Dayton, TN 37321. The family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support and offers these comforting words from Psalm 147:3: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Loretta, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.
