Loretta Rose (Thurman) Wood

Loretta Rose (Thurman) Wood, age 65, of Spring City, TN passed away on September 8, 2021 at her home. She was a life-long resident of Rhea County and of the Baptist faith. She had been employed as a clerk at Deli-Mart. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilker and Mayme Thurman; and three brothers, Randall, Wallace, and Albert Thurman. 

She is survived by her children, Joseph D. (Laura) Wood, Jr., Jonathan (Shyanne) Wood, and Kristina R. (Charles) Day II, all of Dayton, TN; brother, Jerry (Maida) Thurman of Spring City, TN; sister, Jean (Kenneth) Nichols of Dayton, TN; sister-in-law, Phyllis Thurman of Dayton, TN; fourteen grandchildren, one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with interment to follow at Worthington Cemetery in Pikeville, TN.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.
